Today’s aviation photo of the day is another reader submission! This one comes from loyal reader and all-around good guy Chris M, who put it up on the Airplanology facebook page. It shows us the majesty of a U.S. Navy T-45 Goshawk on approach.
This photo is especially cool in that you can see the light trickling through the leading-edge devices on the right wing, the tailhook and a ventral strake, and the unique drag devices open on the tail. I’m not sure what to call those: drag doors? Ventral flaps? Anyway, they look cool, and Chris caught this plane at a neat angle and a neat moment.
Thanks to Chris for today’s photo! If you have a photo you’d like to submit, contact me!
